This month we have some amazing Packages with Holland America Line’s Noordam featured so I thought why not have a bit of an exploration of the ship!

Named after the Northern Compass point, Noordam features amazing art, music & food. “For Explorers, For Foodies, For Music Lovers” is the Holland America Line tagline and the facilities onboard really emphasize this.
We have some great itineraries on the Noordam for the summer 2022/2023 season and my favourite itinerary has to be the 35-night Sydney roundtrip circumnavigation of Australia in November 2022. This particular itinerary currently has a sale offer of US $200 onboard credit per twin cabin as well as complimentary home or airport transfers in Australia (these can be in Brisbane or Sydney the radius is 60km).
Visiting Airlie Beach, Townsville, Cairns, Darwin, Dili, Komodo Island, Broome, Exmouth, Geraldton, Perth (overnight stay), Albany, Port Lincoln, Adelaide, Kangaroo Island, Melbourne (overnight stay), Burnie & Hobart. The ship re-entered service in 2019 after a $300 million dollar brand enhancement. During this refurbishment “Billboard Onboard” was added to the Music Walk on Deck 2. This interactive experience has two pianists battling it out with over 50 years of chart-topping hits. In between pianist sets, you can show off your trivia skills by answering questions on digital screens.
Another extremely popular music venue onboard is BB Kings Blues Club located on Deck 2. The venue brings the best of Memphis music to sea and the Beale Street band will have you up and dancing in no time. Whilst having a break from dancing, you can try one of the speciality “Blues” themed cocktails such as “Rock me Baby”. The Beale Street band features an 8-piece band with 2 vocalists. Backed up by Rhythm & Horn sections, these amazing musicians are sure to impress!
Located on Deck 2 is the Lincoln Centre Stage. It is a place to enjoy multiple classical gems & even some contemporary favourites. Throughout the cruise, there will also be chances to “meet the Artists” so keep an eye on your daily cruise planner!
You can enjoy more music options at the World stage which showcases music, song, dance, comedy & more during your cruise.
Also updated during this refurbishment was a number of the dining facilities on board. Noordam includes various complimentary dining options onboard from the Main dining room to 24-hour Room service, the options are endless and that is before you even consider some of the speciality dining options onboard.
Lido market on Deck 9 offers a casual, modern marketplace experience steps from the Lido pool area and offers quick convenient grab as you go snacks or have what you want made-to-order from the various themed eateries from “Breadboard” where you can enjoy fresh-baked bread & pastries to “Distant Lands” which features global cruising to “Sweet Spot” to get that ice cream or sweet treat. There is sure to be something for everyone!
Another complimentary dining option onboard is “Dine in” also located on Deck 9 and near the midship pool. This casual eatery offers classics like burgers, Nathans Famous hot dogs (my personal favourite hotdog!!) it’s like your classic American Bistro style & the perfect spot to grab a burger at sea.
A little bit fancier, Pinnacle Grill is one of 2 Speciality Dining venues onboard & offers an intimate venue for Lunch or Dinner with the cuisine inspired by America’s Pacific Northwest - think wild-caught king salmon from Alaska. The other speciality restaurant onboard is Canaletto, a beautifully appointed Italian themed dining venue. Enjoy amazing Italian mains and desserts like garlic shrimp ravioli, Tiramisu & Gelato…. YUM! Both these restaurants require a reservation to be made and do have a payable cover charge but are well worth it. If you purchase Holland America’s “Have it All” fare, depending on the length of sailing, the promotion will include between 1 – 3 speciality dining reservations with your booking.

With Noordam coming to Australia in November 2022 for the 2022/2023 summer season, now is the perfect time to book to get the best available deal and cabin location. It’s predicted that, once cruising resumes here, the demand is going to far outweigh the capacity that we have in the region. We are already seeing this very trend with guests currently booking longer cruises much further in advance!
