Along Australia's South Coast

This 17-night journey in October 2021 is a perfect way to see the breadth of the country from Perth to Hobart. RAIL & SAIL Australia Circumnavigation & the Indian Pacific

If you are wanting a longer and more in-depth journey then our Rail & Sail package with a circumnavigation of Australia in November 2022 may interest you.  

Your journey begins in Sydney where you will board ms Noordam and set sail north to such tropical stops as Airlie Beach, Townsville, Cairns and Darwin before venturing north to Komodo Island, home to the mythical Komodo Dragon! Noordam then heads down south along the west coast of Australia with stops at Broome, Exmouth and Geraldton before disembarking in Perth.

Noordam, named for the Northern compass point, offers a wealth of experiences and options onboard for your days at sea. Take in some Memphis blues in B.B. King’s Blues Club or if chamber music is your thing, hear everything from classical to contemporary in the Lincoln Centre Stage.

On the 4th of December, you will board the all-inclusive Indian Pacific for an epic transcontinental rail adventure from Perth to Sydney stopping at Kalgoorlie, Rawlinna, Adelaide, Broken Hill and the Blue Mountains.  

The iconic Indian Pacific is a bucket list item for most travellers and everyone must experience this unique journey at least once (if not twice).

Off train experiences are included for all stops along the way, just a few examples include a Barossa Valley tour with wine tastings from Adelaide, visiting the iconic Palace Hotel in Broken Hill, famously featured in the movie ‘The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert’ and experiencing the vast expanse of the Blue Mountains with the option to take in a bushwalk.

Onboard, all meals and beverages are included. Whilst onboard travelling from west to east sit back and enjoy a beverage in the Outback Explorer Lounge or sample regionally inspired food, fine wines and local specialities in the Queen Adelaide restaurant.

RAIL & SAIL The Australian Azamara Journey

Wanting to experience something different over Christmas and New Year? Then this 20-night rail and sail package onboard the Indian Pacific and Azamara Journey over December 2021/January 2022 may be for you.

Beginning in Sydney on the 15th December, you will board the Indian Pacific for the start of your transcontinental adventure to Perth. The Indian Pacific stops at Broken Hill, Adelaide, Cook and Rawlinna with off-train experiences included at each stop.

 Named for the two oceans the train encounters on its journey, the Indian Pacific travels between Sydney, Adelaide and Perth on a spectacular 4352km crossing. There’s no better way to experience the spectacular interior landscape of Australia than by the romance of rail. 

On arrival in Perth you will enjoy 1 night at COMO The Treasury. The property houses the COMO Shambhala Urban Escape, specialising in hands-on healing and holistic treatments. The retreat facilities include four treatment rooms, a 20m heated indoor pool and a state of the art gym all housed within the original vault of the state-building which once held the city’s titles and deeds!

Board Azamara Journey the following day for your southern Australia cruise from Perth to Melbourne visiting fascinating and remote ports such as Esperance with its white sand beaches and Cape Le Grand Coastal Trail, Kangaroo Island with its wildlife, famous cheese, honey and wine and Eden with its famous oysters and rugged hinterland.
