Here’s a quick review of COMO The Treasury in Perth where we stayed 3 nights and really didn’t want to leave!
Location – the hotel is in a really good location in Perth, close to the city centre and also to Perth railway station. It was about a 10 min walk to the station, but for cruise pax travelling with luggage, a private transfer is recommended. We took an Uber from the airport which cost $30.
Room – we stayed in the Heritage Room at 60sqm. Their lead in City Rooms start from 55sqm. As a converted treasury building, no two rooms are alike. In a Heritage Room, there is no door between the bathroom and the bedroom space, and it’s accessible from both left/right sides. Not sure if this will make sense, but from the bedroom you can see the reflection of the vanity in the mirror (fully enclosed toilet is behind this mirrored door). If someone’s having a shower, you’ll see them in the reflection too. So if you have “friends” travelling together, you may like to point this out. Also, if you have someone chilling out on the table/chair, they can see right to where the bath is. It’s a waterfall shower which is really nice, and they have a nice blend of bath salt available to use (highly recommend!) complimentary. I took a photo of the minibar fridge, restocked daily. There’s plenty of bottled water (mineral and sparkling) available in the room, again restocked with turndown service. We got to see a suite, which actually has a smaller bathroom area than the Heritage Room but much larger living space.
Breakfast – breakfast is included at ‘The Post’ for all room types. COMO promotes health and wellness, so they don’t have a buffet breakfast. Instead, you have a selection to choose from and it’s made to order (see menu attached). A selection of fruits/yoghurt/pastry/juice is served on arrival before your main meal. I tried both *CS COMO Shambhala healthful cuisine items and would highly recommend.
Dining – the hotel offers a wide range of dining options (Italian, tapas, thai etc) with Wildflower being their feature restaurant. The menu at Wildflower is based around the indigenous six seasons, with most opting for the degustation option. Bookings are highly recommended, especially on Saturdays; I believe they’re fully booked until January.
Dress code – although there is no ‘dress code’ as such, it’s worth mentioning dress code is smart casual in my opinion. The hotel is adjacent to many office buildings, and The Post area (in picture) becomes somewhat of a place for meetings. Clients may feel uncomfortable walking around in shorts and a singlet. I saw a lot of European guests, all dressed well.
